Saving the World

I'd like to offer my list of favorite charities and NPOs.  I know that there are thousands of fantastic organizations throughout the country (and world), and I do not want to disparage any of them, even those with which I do not agree; these are the ones that I hold closest to my heart.  This list is in almost no particular order; the first, the Colon Cancer Alliance is the one for which I have focused the majority of my personal fundraising efforts.  And of course, this list is fluid, as I'm sure that I'll come across and experience other groups as I continue this adventure.

• Colon Cancer Alliance - I lost my dad to colon cancer on October 1, 1999.  He was 15 days shy of his 52nd birthday.  He missed seeing me graduate from college, marry, and have a child.  I miss him every day, and I have made it my mission to work to ensure that other daughters do not have to lose their fathers to a preventable, treatable, and beatable disease.

My dad loved giving to friends, family, and to those who
needed help.  I hope to continue his good works.
